Ann Carter - You Oughta Quit It / Lovin Daddy Blues (Mod) (CD)
Recorded in February of 1954 in Chicago and released in May of that same year, gritty R&B vocalist Ann Carter's "You Oughta Quit It" B&W "Lovin' Daddy Blues" is probably the rarest single from Chicago's Blue Lake label catalog and is highly sought after by collectors and aficionados. Montgomery, Alabama native Carter comes from a musical family; she is the sister of bandleader and bassist Bob Carter who recorded in the mid-to late 1950's for the Specialty label, and the niece of Sonny Carter who worked out of Detroit and recorded for Dot Records.
